Blackwood Company Dog Food 2

Extremely poor quaity food. The first ingredient is poultry meal, which says nothing to the consumer about what types of poultry they put in the food. Sure, they state on there site that it is chicken and turkey, but, then again, science diet, Iams and Eukanuba state that their by-products are actually organ meat, and everyone knows that that is not true. They also list corn as a second ingredient. This is an extremely cheap kibble binder and protien filler. Dogs are meant to have have meat and not corn for their source of protien. Also, considering that this food uses  potatoes, corn, and meat for protein sources, the crude protien is pretty low. At only 23%, one must wonder how much of that is actually from the meat. This company does however have an ok allergy formulation in their Blackwood 5000 food. I would probably rate that one a three, with my big deterent being their use of potato product and  again, their low crude protien percent.

You need to learn to read about more than one formula when you want to malign a product. The BW1000 has a lower protein level like Wellness and many others however, their 2000 formula is their all life stage formula and has a higher protein content as well as their 7000 formula and puppy formulas. How can you go to a site and just read the information on a maintanace formula and make an overall determination? I challange anyone to go through these reviews and find 15 people who actually used the product that were unhappy with it. You won't, you will find a few negative comments from people who only think they know how to read labels who then mark "terrible" to help them feel good about themselves....that has nothing to do with this product but only someone else's mentality. There *ARE* however MANY actual users who have posted their positive comments on these products and their success and that stands for itself.

I thought we already went throught this eastgsd? I honestly thought you were going to stop with these B.S. comments after the first time around. Guess Not, so now I have to start defending my reviews again! Ok, Their Blackwood 1000 is the formula for Normal Active Adults. That is the one that most people will be feeding their dogs, so that is why I focused on that one. Their Blackwood 2000 is NOT an all lifestage formula, but a Large Breed Puppy and Active adult formula. Both formulas contain almost exactly the same ingredients, therefore, my review about this companys ingredients is spot on as except for their Blackwood 5000 formula, all the others contain either Poultry Meal, Corn, soybeans or all three. That does not make a good pet food. I await your future comments on my reviews so that I may refute them too.

Blackwood 2000 *is* an all life stage formula by all classifications. BW 1000 is a *maintanance* formula and is *not* an all life stage formula. Refute at will and wow me with your wit ;) lol
