Louisiana

reviewed by IrishTurtle

Located in the southern United States, Louisiana was named after Louis XIV of France by a French explorer. Louisiana's nickname, the "Pelican State," comes from the native brown pelican. The capital of Louisiana is Baton Rouge.

Worst state I have ever been!!! I visited New Orleans before and after the hurricane. Boy is New Orleans awful! Before the hurricane it was an evil place filled with dirt, sin, voodoo, crime, and unimpressive attractions. This place died long ago. I thought the St. Charles train ride through the Garden District would be nice but it was nothing but a trip through a crime ridden ghetto, yikes! While the food in the French quarter was yummy and the Hotel Montelone was great, this city looked like something from an uncivillized quarter of the world. Baton Rouge and all the little town in between were even more depressing. People here are bitter and angry. An angry hispanic tried to kill me and run me off the road for no apparent reason only which furthered my resentment of passing through this God forsaken place.

I have never heard anyone say that people from Louisiana are 'bitter and angry.' Maybe you are a jerk?

Sorry you had such a bad experience. Wow, I think you got the bad end of everything.

Just had to comment about Garden District, did you ever stop there, or did you just pass through? The Garden District was my favorite part of New Orleans, I'm surprised you're calling it a ghetto. Audobon Park was absolutely amazing.

But I admit, the area between the Quarters (Warehouse District and east) and Garden District is ghetto-y. But only parts of it, some of were typical suburbs.
