I've gotten into boxing over the past months, one night a week. It's really a great upper body workout. This guy who teaches it really knows his stuff; he was an Olympic Gold medalist, so I'm fortunate to have such an instructor. Basically he has you practice a series of punches, jabs, crosses, uppercuts, has you dodge some punches, gives you some speed drills to do. You work out with a partner or on the bag. He emphasises a lot of jump rope as a warm up and an intense ab workout at the end. You walk out of there sore in the arms, chest and back, and if you try and write something your hand will shake and the pen will naturally slide downward. I bought a bag, a rope and some gloves so I can work out every day and I'm excited about it.
