Butler County is located in South Alabama. Its name is in honor of Captain William Butler, who fought in the Creek War.
Greenville is the county seat and the county has about 20,000 people. Butler is known as the Camellia City, the state flower of Alabama. Greenville has gained national attention of late because it is home to one of the premier golf courses on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail: Cambrian Ridge.
