I've drunk the tap water in Sao Paulo, Brazil - something most locals rarely ever do - and am still alive. In fact, I didn't even get sick. Yet like many I've grown accustomed to the store bought variety, though I continue view it as a luxery, not a necessity. Clearly we should all be thankful that we've actually got the option between clean, clear running (tap) water and a better tasting, expensive variety - unlike hundreds of millions around the globe who have neither.
