To all you people who say it was all thanks to Alcindor and Walton, he won 5 championships without them, still beating 2nd place Coach (Co)Rupp(t) of Kentucky by 1 championship. Some people claim payoffs, but there has still not been one shred of evidence in that direction. Even if there was scandal, it takes more than the best players to win, as shown by Duke, the Yankees, and other teams who consistently don't live up to their billing. John Wooden was the ultimate teacher and coach, 'Nuff Said.
