" Didn't have the charisma needed to play a character who can sleep with any woman he meets in under 10 minutes "
Well, of all the comments on this board, this is the one I have to disagree with the most. As much as 10 minutes??? ;)
" Best thing they ever did was dump this dude "
Except they didn't. He walked of his own accord when the producers had (almost) sorted out their legal problems and many of their financial issues and were ready to start the filming of 'Goldeneye'. He felt there had been too long a gap and that he had ceased to see himself in the Bond role again many years before. The only Bond actor to this day to be shown the door is Pierce Brosnan who desperately wanted to come back in 'Casino Royale'. Contrary to popular myth, even Lazenby left of his own accord after taking what must have been the worst managerial advice in cinema history.
In my opinion, Dalton is the best Bond. The complete package of acting skill, screen presence, striking looks, and all seemingly effortless. It's totally unsurprising that Broccoli and his people had been after Dalton for the role since he was 24.
