From a scenic point of view and variety of parks and outdoor beauty it's a 5 star rating. For traffic and poorly planned transportation it's a 2. You can go from the mountains, to the desert and to the ocean within a days driving like a lotta places in California in that sense except not as much crime and pollution which is nice. I haven't been but to 5 other states so I am only speaking on this state alone not comparing it as better or more beautiful than others. But a great state if you like the outdoors and fairly decent driving distances between places.
