Pinnacle 3

We put our dog on Pinnacle Duck & Potato formula because we suspected he had food allergies. We made the switch over a one week period and he was doing fine until we switched him completely; he then started to develop small problems he has never had before such as bad breath, very soft stools and licking at the base of his tail. We kept him on the food until we finished the bag hoping these problems would go away as he was adjusting but they didn't. We eventually had to put him back on Nutro Ultra and everything came back to normal. On the plus side, he did seem to have more energy on Pinnacle and his dandruffs went away but overall I was unimpressed. I am still looking for a better food for him as I think Nutro is ok but not the best.

I completely understand why you would assume Nutro is better than Pinnacle. However, as a former Nutro user, I beg you to continue searching for a better food. The first 1/2 dozen foods on this list are as good as they get. In spite of what some say, I truly believe that dogs detox from crappy foods (Nutro, Iams, Science Diet, etc.) and these symptoms are attributed to the new food. Try Orijen, Solid Gold, Go! Natural, Timberwolf Ocean Blue, Evo, Artemis, Canidae, Nature's Variety. Good luck~!
