Lust for Life (1956) .... Vincent Van Gogh 5

I am a Van Gogh nut and I thought Kirk Douglas played him to a tee. I wish I could remember the actor who played the brother too because he was great too. Its a good movie.

Douglas gave as good as he got alongside Anthony Quinn.

Not Douglas' first dramatic role (that would date to Van Heflin's and Barbara Stanwyck's entertaining 'The Strange Love of Martha Ivers', 1946), but the one that established his status beyond a mere action star. And that brother would be James Donald, whom you might remember from 'The Great Escape' (1963) or, earlier, as Stewart Granger's close friend in 'Beau Brummell' (1954)
