Gangsta's Paradise (Coolio featuring L.V.) 1

Shockingly overrated crossover song that claims to expose life-in-the-inner-city as if we don't know what it's like. . .the song presents the illusion of a 'lack of choice' when choice and personal responsibility play a role at some level. . .it's very simple- city dangerous(?)=leave the city to raise kids and teach them to go to college. . .stay in dangerous city and refuse education?=might get shot/killed/suffer lower quality of life. . .there are your choices, deal with it. . .the song was a philosophical cop-out. . .

Your review is asinine.
When you listen to a Hip Hop record, you have to listen to it's lyrical complexity rather than its subject material. In terms of this song, Coolio lyrics and the eerie instrumental give the audience a Hi-Def look into ghetto life.

Also, you can't go to college if you don't have enough money.
