The last wedding I went to the reception was upstairs in a hotel. They started out having free draft beer and mixed drinks but you had to pay for shots. Then the mixed drinks had to be paid for but you were unaware of this until you stood in line and got up there with no money on you....then without warning the beer cost money. My friends and I started going to the bar downstairs to buy our beers. If you have a cash bar let it be known up front.....but its better to have an open bar and let the bartender get tips.
