This War ran from 1337 to 1453 and was a series of interrupted wars and campaigns. Long periods of peace intervened between the various spasms of war. The English were finally expelled from France.
The main thrust was the English attempt to dominate France or at least protect the interests of English kings in France.
The name Hundred Years Wars is acceptable as the wars, battles, campaigns were all aimed at the same thing.
Other struggles are also tecnically misnomers, but historians accept them. The Thirty Years War or the Wars of the Roses spring to mind. Most were disjointed separate wars or campaigns but fought for origially the same goals.
As the struggles progressed, however, the goals changed. The Thirty Years War is a prime example.
