Lieberman, Joseph (D-CT)

reviewed by subaru7

Joe Lieberman is a U.S. Senator in the Democratic party. He was the Democratic nominee for Vice President in 2000. He ran for President in 2004 but lost the nomination to Howard Dean, Wes Clark, John Kerry, and John Edwards. John Kerry then won the Democratic nomination for President. He is a moderate Democrat.

Lieberman would do the people here in Connecticut a great favor by retiring. He has ignored the people of Connecticut too long, since becoming a 'national figure'.

Firstly his politics are way out of sync for a blue (and becoming even more blue) state like Connecticut.

His ideas may have been 'progressive' in 1961- but not now. He and his wife (a corporate lobbyist) have too many connections with the health insurance industry (he has opposed universal/affordable health care) and other benefits for the low income.

His support for the Bush/Cheney regime is perhaps his biggest mistake of all.

Plus appearing on FOX News as a regular 'posterchild' and cheerleader for republican/right wing causes are another reason the voters gave him a thumbs down August 8th.

I believe Joe cost Al Gore from winning in 2000. I do hope Al Gore comes to campaign for Lamont- which would really frost Liebermans out of control vanity.

Sen. Joe Liebrman has been a great and well-respected U.S. Senator. Be happy your not stuck with George Allen or one of the right-wingers. Ned Lamont will loose and deserve to loose by being a radically wrong canidate.
