Mixed Breed 5

The problem with most breeders is that they are not trying to improve the breed, but just to make money. As a result, health and personality problems have become commonplace. and the intelligence of many breeds has suffered. Every time a movie comes out featuring a breed, there is an explosion of some horrible dogs due to reckless breeding. Mixed breed dogs are more likely to be intelligent, healthy, have a great personality, and enjoy good longevity than most purebreds.

Jon Anderson, this is only true of the backyard breeders and the puppy mills. Supply and demand. The "real" breeders are always apalled by this and do their best to always improve the breed. Of course it is a crap shoot and if problems in a breeding arise then responsible breeders remove the dog from the breeding program. When the breeds show up in films and such the responsible breeder buckles down for the rash of calls and the rescue people prepare.
