Well, I enlisted in the U.S Navy, to serve my country, and protecting innocent lives, would be one of their "Civic Duties". On a more personal, and nonmilitary level, the term innocence can be somewhat blurred, so it depends. On another level, would I intervene if I saw someone being attacked, hurt or worse. Well I have done this already, and paid dearly for it by getting stabbed. But I guess I would do it again, if I was ever in that situation again.
