South Carolina

reviewed by caphillsea77

Located in the southeastern United States, South Carolina covers approximately 32,007 sq. miles. South Carolina's nickname, the "Palmetto State," refers to the official state tree, the Sabal Palmetto. The capital of South Carolina is Columbia.

South Carolina 3

South Carolina has done quite well in retaining its southern character. I've never seen a state with so many churches in my life. As America becomes more transient SC's neighboring states like Georgia and North Carolina seems to have absorbed more outside influence but it feels as if SC has some leftover elements from the Confederacy.

Indeed this state has many beautiful destinations like Charleston, Hilton Head and a beautiful beach destinations. Inland it seems like an average landscape with lots of pine forest. I could stay a while and enjoy the atmosphere in Charleston but overall SC feels staunchly southern and conservative.
