Sean Hannity

reviewed by Flick01

Sean Hannity's television news experience includes co-hosting the Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes" (a prime-time one-hour debate-driven talk show focusing on controversial issues and newsmakers, with Hannity serving as the program's conservative counterpart to liberal Alan Colmes). Prior to joining Fox, Hannity hosted a radio talk show in Atlanta on WGST-AM.

Sean Hannity 4

I was going to write a review about Hannity's position on the issues and the way he expresses them but first I decided to look back on the last 60 reviews to see what other RIA members had to say about him. We have been told countless number of times that it is the liberals who are the most tolerant among us, they are the ones who embrace diversity and respect people of opposing viewpoints. In looking over the reviews, liberal tolerance for Hannity included words and phrases such as "Highly irrational, closet supremist," "liar," "douchebag ," "Lying hack for the RNC," "Self righteous windbag," "a jerk...total robot," and "fundi-Nazi." In fact, two reviewers attacked me because I watch Hannity's program, saying "He is not an idiot, but his audience certainly is." and "I guess some people aren't blessed with the ability to accumulate knowledge and decipher bullskiiit." (Don't get mad at me, I'm just repeating what has been written) Based on what I read by Hannity's liberal critics I now understand that when liberals say they are tolerant of opposing viewpoints, what they actually mean is that they are tolerant of other opposing liberal viewpoints and when they say they embrace diversity, it means they embrace other liberal perspectives. I also discovered that those people who were most critical of Hannity limited their criticisms to Hannity as a person. No one had anything to say about his position on any subject although a few reviewers did comment on Hannity's support of our troops. Not one person said anything about Hannity's opinions concerning our borders, terrorists, health care, abortion, or politics in general. Therefore, based on what I read, the only conclusion one can come to is Hannity's critics hate him as a person, but do not disagree with his stand on the issues.

You're right Flick - just as conservatives are hardly the party of morals, liberals are hardly the party of tolerance. I do think this guy is sort of a clown though...

Magellan.....Had I posted the original review I intended to write I would have said that I agree with the majority of his positions but do not feel he gives a fair shake to opposing views. There are times when, as an interviewer, you can't allow your opponent to duck a question and you have to say to him or her "answer the question" but Sean doesn't give give his adversaries any breathing room. He goes looking for specific answers which is good, but only within his context, which is not so good. I would have given him four stars anyway because in spite of his shortcomings, he is effective.

I think you nail it Flick... that's exactly what rubs me the wrong way about him. I can see how it would be less offensive if you believed philosophically with what he was saying.

Flick's review is right on. If you're keeping moral score Gell, you know it's not even close so don't go there.
