Born in 1942, Curtis Mayfield was a singer, guitarist, and songwriter who burst onto the scene as the front man for the R&B band The Impressions. Mayfield was known for making music with a social message.

 


Limpin' Trenchfoot

Not everything he did hit the mark, but the 1st two albums are classics. Great voice, intelligent lyrics, nifty guitar work and great arrangements. Bit of a soul legend really.
