02/18/2007 | That is NOT what anyone has said. Of course, seeing as how you refuse to read the Catechism, you will never know. Nobody has said that the Catechism is on the same level as Scripture. The catechism is the teachings of the Church, the taditions of the church...all BASED firmly on Scripture. |

01/31/2007 | It really does not matter what is written/reviewed, whether in love of hate. (not that hate is the right response at all.) You will get the same response which is - Your ignorant, read a doctrinal statement!!!! If you read it make sure you mind is set that the Catechism is the final answer. Gods word is important, but just check the catechism in case!!!! I pray that you would not be so ignorant over your own Faith!!!! It's not about right or wrong is about Gods word and it's teaching, there is only one answer!!!! Hey is this not just a review!!!! Are we not aloud to form our own opineons or is that against the Catechism too!!!!! |

01/31/2007 | The Catholic Church is both tradition AND gospel based. If you can't see that all denominations have their traditions (whether it be genuflecting, crossing yourself or in the case of the mega-protestant churches - a three camera shoot and salvation show) then you either haven't done your homework, you're terminally and deliberately ignorant or simply a run-of-the-mill religious bigot. |

01/22/2007 | The reason you say the things you say is quite obvious...hatred over a past wrong. It is not my job to either reconvert you or to chastise you. I know many ex-Catholics who have left the Church, but most of them do not spit venom. I respect ex-Catholics that simply say, "Catholicism is just not for me. To claim that we are non-Biblical or extra-Biblical is just plain wrong. I bid you peace in your faith walk. |

01/21/2007 | There is nothing wrong with ritual and tradition, or even thinking for that matter. BTW, for you Protestant Evangelicals and Charismatics, please look at your next church bulletin and see how similar to the Catholic and Orthodox Order of Worship it is...you will be amazed. So, what exactly do we do at the Mass anyway? We walk in, pray, and get ourshelf in a worshipful attitude. We don't talk foolishly and ask how things are going until services star. That might be because we worship in a Sanctuary, not in an auditorium. We kneel down (possibly making the Sign of the Cross) and pray. We listen to worship music and smell the smells of candles and incense until the Priest enters and Mass begins. He welcomes us. We hear the first reading of Scripture. More music. Maybe special music. We hear a second reading of Scripture. The Priest reads the Gospel reading and stops to deliver a short sermon based on the readings of the day (we call the sermon a homily). Before the Gospel reading, the congregation makes a cross with their finger across their forehead, lips, and heart...which means that we need to cleanse ourselves in thought, word, and deed. After the homily, a collection may be taken. After the collection, the Priest prepares the elements of communion. He invites the congregation to search their souls to find themselves worthy of the sacrifice of Christ (meaning to make sure that we properly discern the communion elements). We return to our seats and pray, pondering the wonderiful gift that Christ has bestowed upon us. After communion, we might hear about things relating to the life of the Church, for example some stuff about prayer groups, Bible studies, fellowships, etc. We the are dismissed by the Priest who says, "The Mass is over. Go in peace to love and serve the Lord. Can I ask where the blasphemy and bad doctrine is? |

12/20/2006 | Ritual and all that is fine. The ones that get lost in it and have nothing but the ritual are the problem. |
