This is the standard for all other auto loaders. This is a forty year old design that continues to be one of the best to date. People complain that is heavy. The truth is it is only slightly heavier than all of the other autos and because of the extra heft, recoil is less than the competition. A little known fact is that for every 10% heavier a 12 guage shotgun is, there is 20% less recoil. Since I use mine primarily for sporting clays and shoot 100 rounds in a day, this is a plus. I have also heard that the gas design is outdated. I love this design simply because of it's reliability and ease of disassembly and cleaning. This last complaint I have heard is it only shoots 2 3/4" shells. This is true of the older 1100's, but the modern G3 1100 will shoot 3" without adjustment. All in all, this is still one of the best autoloaders money can buy.
