Wesley Clark 3

Not a bad guy, but Not Ready For Prime Time either, if his 2004 run is any indication. While I'm dubious about military candidates in general, there is an interesting precedent here. Ike won in 52' largely thanks to the unpopularity of the Korean War ('I will go to Korea'). Likewise, Clark-as the only Democratic candidate with military experience-might pick up some traction for the nomination if American soldiers are still in Iraq in 2008.

Nice comparison. I think having troops in Iraq might actually be the ONLY way Clark or another general could get nominated in 2008.
