I did not know much of anything about this guy until I watched him testify before the Senate Budget Committee. I still don't really know all that much about the guy especially concerning if he can effect good policy, but I was impressed with the way he handled the hearing. Nobody was particularly confrontational although every senator was trying hard to get opinions out of him to advance their party's line. He was objective and insightful. So far he looks like one of Bush's better appointees and a worthy replacement to many economist's demi-god Alan Greenspan.
