Hillary Rodham Clinton (Democrat)

Hillary is going to run an extremely cautious, professionally managed campaign. I've always said that her game plan is similar to what George W. Bush did back in 2000: get re-elected by a large margin in your home state, raise lots of money, lock up national donors and statewide activists early, appear in public in only the most controlled of circumstances, and avoid taking bold stances. Hillary's campaign roll out was extremely stage-managed down to every detail. However, I'm not too sure such theatrics would work as well with the Democrats. This year in particular, they are feeling somewhat more emboldened with the GOP's troubles and they may decide to nominate somewhat like Barack Obama, who's risky, but can likely tap into voter frustrations over the war, cost of living issues, etc... Hillary, as she said, is going to run "a campaign to win", but she is going to play it very safe, even at the risk of possibly alienating her from her own party, and even the desires of the American people.

That said, Hillary remains the frontrunner, but it remains to be seen whether the American people would decide to have another Clinton in the White House. I personally would not like to see Hillary there. It's time for new voices. Putting her in there will simply resurrect all of the old political fights from the 1990's. You can bet that her opponents are going to dredge up Whitewater, impeachment, healthcare, the Travel Office firing. And you can bet that there will be new things coming up. Let's drop the drama, and get to work. The Clinton years were largely squandered over pointless political battles that no one really ever won.
