Barry Sanders 5

Yeah, look at his stats. Year in and year out they matched or beat those of Emitt Smith. I guess the fact that Emitt had one of the best run-blocking O lines in the history of the NFL has nothing to do with it, right? There is no "if"....Barry was the best.

LOL!!!! Yeah..barry's stats BEAT Emmitts, didn't they?? Hmm..let's see...barry, 15,269 total career yds...Emmitt, 18,355..MOST IN NFL HISTORY. Hmm..barry, 99 career tds, Emmitt, 164. Care to look at barry's PLAYOFF stats???? Nah, I'm afraid there aint much to look at because barry SUCKED in the playoffs. He also couldn't block worth a damn. Everybody loves to speculate on Emmitt having a better O line, better team, better stadium, better uniforms, better manicurist, so what? Emmitt was better...period. Thanks for the debate! :)

It is innane to say that the quality of a team- particularly the offensive line in the case of an offensive back- has nothing to do with that players results. Any pro would agree that, no matter how good you are you're better with a great team around you. While you're comparing stats, look at the overall team stats and recods for the Cowboys/ Lions during the years Emmitt and Barry played. Come on amigo!
