Great variety in this state. Mountains to the west, the Atlantic to the east. Charlotte metro is the 20th largest city in the US and the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area is a hot bed of major universities and high tech companies (Research Triangle). Asheville and the surrounding mountain areas are great for a cool summer get away and some fairly good snow skiing in the winter. Cost of living is respectable and the citizens are friendly. Good place to live overall.
