Abortion 5

What is wrong with our country? We pride ourselves on being the most technologically advanced and morally clear part of the world. We support war if it helps people and then we fall down and support this travesty. Yeah and i know what you will say, you will say something on the lines of: “if you don't support it than don't do it” which is great logic for victim less crimes such as drug use and eating a ninety pound steak but with this issue, there is a victim you morons.

The whole “my body my choice” stuff is junk. Here is why: if you think that killing a human because of your control of your own body is okay then is it okay to drive fast without your hand on the steering wheel, it it your body and your choice, not the choice of the countless victims. Another thing is this, don't bring up the stupid claim that it is between a woman and God. Here is why:God does not care, he/she/it created the perfect world where he/she/it controlled things and guess what happened, it broke down because of an apple. After that God decided not to control the lives of everyone.

I despise this country because of stuff like this. Here we are inventing medicines, tools, life-loving philosophies and yet we fall back to the Godless dark ages or roman times with this sad and evil act of inhumanity. If i picked up a gun and started shooting people in order to take over land i would be in the same mindset as those that scream for keeping this legal.

Why do we need this? We have saran wrap for crying out loud and we still support this barbarianism. This is important: think for a minute you baby killers; how hard would it be to find a solution that makes everyone happy like a good form of birth control (don't bring up that whole “it will lead to promiscuity”stuff because christens would rather have condoms than abortion). We have the tech and, thanks to morons supporting government funding of this crap, we also have money allocated that is serving a terrible purpose, so what the heck is the holdup? Maybe money: who makes money from this evil deed? Who else than planned parenthood, the propaganda network for high school and college girls that don't know how close they themselves came to a dishonorable demise in the name of twisted pseudo-freedom. That company or whatever it is makes money from the government because they have no customers that can't afford their services (good deal for them, kind of like what it would be like if you gave rednecks money to go to Cosco; Cosco would love it and fund the politicians that give the money) then they fund the candidates and propaganda that keeps this legal.

Look at it this way: if it is legal you anger 50% of the people +- 3%. whereas if it is illegal you still have around 50% +- 3% of the people that are unhappy about the fact that it is illegal but they are nowhere near as angry as the people that are against it when it is legal!

Lastly think about this: it is not about freedom. Most of the supporters are socialists (erroneously called liberals) and trust me they only support positive liberty, which is the liberty that takes away power over ones life. Hopefully i made many of you hate me.

BC isn't always effective, you make it sound as if all women who have abortions must not have been using anything to protect herself in the first place. God doesn't care? You're very jaded, it's almost sad 'cause I assume you're still fairly young, right? And, women will have abortions regardless of the law. The law was made because it was safer to let a trained prof. do it, than have some crack addict in a back alley do it for some woman desperate enough to commit a crime to do so. I, personally, could never have an abortion: but I'd rather have women who do not care, do it in a clinic than on the streets.

The Taliban would agree with you. . .women shouldn't choose. . .

I appreciate your heartfelt enthusiasm about this issue. Abortion is an ugly thing; I don't think you'll find a person in the world who would disagree with that. And, I agree that this SHOULDN'T be about "freedom". Where I disagree with you is that this isn't just a matter of having "saran wrap for crying out loud". The "saran wrap" is only so effective, and eventually someone's going to hit that 0.01% chance of being that one that it fails. The same goes for every other type of birth control out there. I would wager to say that, while I'm sure that there are some women out there who would get an abortion without a second thought, most women who go through with it DON'T WANT TO. There are a million reasons why they feel that they have to, though; one of the major ones being that their families aren't supportive of their daughters being mothers at that time. Some families would rather encourage abortion rather than the "embarrassment" of having their daughter be "that girl". Without that support, and the likelihood of being disowned, some girls feel they have no choice. Other times, they are dragged to the clinic by their mothers. There are other things that don't happen very often, but must be considered: there are those very few times that the choice has to be made between the life of the baby versus the life of the mother (or risk losing both). There are instances of rape/incest. There are instances where the child would be horribly sick or malformed. There are situations out there that I can't even imagine, nor want to. In all of these cases, the baby is an innocent life, but at that point there are no "right" options. True, there's nothing that gives us the right to say who lives or dies, but unfortunately that choice sometimes must be made. I wholeheartedly agree that improved birth control is a must; but, another thing that must be done is a societal change in the acceptance of young mothers. Not that it should be encouraged by any means, but I do think itd do a lot of good to reduce abortions if these women were helped rather than scorned. I would also like to ask you to keep in mind that this issue isnt so easy as arguments of freedom of choice vs. baby killers.

Re: Vudija's post about why the law was made: no such law was ever made. It is that fact which assures us all that the debate will certianly never end. The whimsical rationale for legalized abortion during the first tri-mester was concocted by a single Supreme Court Justice (Harry Blackmun) who was appointed by none other than Richard Nixon, assuring that Nixon's horrible legacy was permanent. The American people never voted for this, nor did any duly elected legislature. It was foisted on America by the Supreme Court. You can believe that they should have but our governmental mechanisms, the hallowed system of checks and balances, designed by the framers of the Constitution, was completely ignored and bypassed.
