If We Legalize Gay Marriage, What About Incest, Bestiality, Pedophilia, etc.?

reviewed by pugwash01

This argument goes something like this: legalizing gay marriage will lead to a slippery slope that takes us towards things like the legalization of incest, bestiality, pedophilia, etc. Rate 5 if you agree with this, 1 if you don't.

If We Legalize Gay Marriage, What About Incest, Bestiality, Pedophilia, etc.? 1

It does not matter what Christians or anyone agree with or not, when it comes to a Law of a country. We are in this world, not of this world. Sin will happen regardless of how faithful you are to oppose it!!! You may not believe it is right for Gay's in general to get married, but you are certainly not in this day and age going to stop it from happening!! Christians call this relationship sin and we all know that sin can lead to more sin. But we need to trust God to continue to have his hand on it! Will Legalizing Gay marriage increase more sin, what like sin doesnt happen now? I do not believe it will increase anymore than it already does. As for these other ways it is illegal now and people still do it!!!! No I do not think it will increase more awful sin!!!! As sin is already a big part of our life !

Good comment pug; I think there is no doubt where the Word of God stands on the homosexual issue. Does sin lead to more sin, yes in some cases and probably no in others. I am personally against legalizing gay marriage because I believe it goes against the natural order of things including God's plan for marriage.

So if people are going to sin anyway, why have any laws? "Gay marriage" does not exist today. Gay people, who are of the same gender, are not married as if they are of differing genders. Marriage, by its long-accepted legal definition, is the union of A MAN AND A WOMAN. Not simply two people who love each other, it never has been that. Why change thousands of years of legal precedent simply because they have a loud and outraged lobby? Legal unions are fine with me, why attempt to change the legal definition of "marriage" ? I find very little place in the conversation for one's personal religious views.

OK, we don't need to change thousands of years of legal precedent simply because they have a loud and outraged lobby.

I agree that there are many ways to view this topic, but the point of this thread is whether or not there is a connection between gay/lesbian marriage/union and the other things mentioned. I say, no.

Donovan: First off, I respect your stand on things...and I rfespect you as a poster, but... The U.S. is NOT a theocracy, it is a Democratic Republic. Sorry, but I had to show off some of my graduate education in here somewhere...I paid enough for it. LOLOL

Donovan commented 1006 days ago.
Maybe so but with that said Autzen I'll exercise my rights to live in a democracy.

I would definitely agree that Gods word is against Gay marriage as per say my other posts. But I do not think that legalizing it will inevitable bring more sin in the world. Sin is here without a doubt and Law will never change that. Donavon I stand with you against marriage for gays. Lets all remember the word marriage is in reference to a male and a Female!!
