I would like to say that I have only just heard of SRV. I heard Voodoo Child on the local rock station, and I was totally blown away, I thought to myself 'even Hendrix would have been impressed by this cover'. I said to a work colleague this guy is amazing, the next big thing. He said I was 100% correct, but too late, and that SRV had died 17 years ago. I have since bought his albums and have seen the DVD's and now I am absolutely sure he is up there with the best. He is on a level with Clapton, Hendrix, Gilmour & Hammett.

Sad to say, here in the UK, SRV is a virtually unknown artist.

There are people who can play the guitar, and there are those who understand it. Vaughan understood. SRV had it all, a talented guitarist, a showman, an inspiration! I wonder how many people picked up a guitar after hearing Stevie. It almost makes me want to stop playing all together!

Vaughan deserves to be in the top 5.
