For California Natural Dog Food it's what's missing that matters. With our natural dog food, cat food, puppy food and dog treats, you'll never find fillers, by-products or artificial preservatives that can cause allergic reactions or stomach issues in your pets. Just wholesome, unrefined pet food ingredients that are as pure and natural as the way Mother Nature intended.

This food is a good product and contains only three main ingredients.
This food is great for dogs that suffer from allergies, sensitive stomachs, or as part of a rotation with other foods that contain different meat protein sources and a range of fruits/vegetables.
Read the following for an article on the need to rotate diet.

I would not feed this food solely straight unless supplementing it with other foods.
Eg: straight dry in morning and mixed in evening with 1/2 dry and 1/2 raw or canned.
One night a week I add "Solid gold" brand green beef tripe, one night some raw eggs, and on chicken night I add the chicken gizzard pack raw (hearts, liver, and gizzard).
The nights that I dont add raw food I add "Natures Variety" or "Merrick" brand canned foods, your dog will get needed additional meats, fruits and vegatables that are present in the canned food.
The puppy formula has 591 calories per cup and is the highest calorie count of the foods I've seen so far.

it's typically not recommended to mix dry and raw food together because dry kibble is processed much slower than raw foods, and it moves much slower through the gut. If you feed them together, the raw food sets in the stomach longer than it should. Also with larged breed dogs, mixing dry and wet food together increases the chances of bloat. dry food soaks up the moisture from the wet food causing it to swell, in turn possibly leading to BLOAT.
