Canidae Chicken and Rice 5

I started to feed Canidae Chicken and Rice to my puppy at 10 weeks old after he (a yellow lab) barely touched his food (other premium brand)during feeding time. Ever since then, he has been eating with a lot of gusto! He is now 18 weeks old with very soft and shiny coat. Canidae Chicken and Rice smells good too. I think it is because of the flaxseed oil. I am now feeding him Canidae All Life Stages (to give him exposure to other protein sources). It is still a very good product and he loves it but does not smell as good as Chicken and Rice to me ....:)

you are feeding your dog a very good formula, but based on ingredients, the all life stages formula is better than the chicken and rice on the basis of meat content alone. And remember, it doesn't matter what the food smells like to you. Trust me, a dog's olfactory senses are much more developed than yours or mine.

Try putting some green beef tripe on top of the kibble if you want to smeel something good :) It is cow stomach with digested grasses left in. Smells nasty to us, but dogs love it. It is also very, very good for them. Solid gold makes it, and Merrick has it in their "working dog stew" formula. Enjoy the smell :)
