On November 18, 2003, The Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that gay couples are legally entitled to get married under the state's constitution, overturning a ban on same-sex marriage. President Bush has spoken out against gay marriage, and the issue figures to be important in the 2004 presidential election.

UPDATE 2: Look, I'm sorry if you disagree with me but, is this not the opinion network and do I not have the right to my opinion? UPDATE: Bird, I appreciate your comment but my belief is more than "aesthetics" or a study of art. It is my faith and many governments were founded based on simple and complicated truths surrounding peoples faith. We do what we do because we believe something is right or wrong and laws are created based on those beliefs. True, I do not see all that gays do but in my line of work I have seen more than I would ever want to share.

ORIGINAL COMMENT: With hesitation I'm commenting on this topic again. People say take God out of the picture; well I can't because he is God and he entered the picture himself. People say this is not a religious issue, well yes it is, and its discussed in the Word of God. People say we are not a theocracy, true but we are a democracy and as long as we are we all have the right to voice our opinions. I believe gay people have rights but not the same as married men and women (when it comes to marriage). I believe it is wrong and is a perversion and I would not want to offer marriage rights to other forms of perversion either. I also do not believe gays are born gay.

What is your point? I said I do not want to share what I've seen. My Job takes me places where most people don't go; I see a lot. Take it as that and let it go.

And you are sure people aren't born gay? how do you know if you aren't? I am sick in this country that freedom of religion should be freedom from hate causing theist. "but we are a democracy"? exactly, so stop taking away the rights of other people, just because you do not understand, and the bible told you so.

So your saying god does not except gay men or women. It may say that in the bible, but it also says he excepts all of his children or something in those lines. So if he didn't except gays, then he would be a hypocrite. But god isn't a hypocrite. So he gave you a choice and, you picked to go against gays. Thats not right.

I'm not being stubborn, just honest about my faith and beliefs. If I believe in God I must believe in his Word (the Bible). It is clear to me just how God perceives Homosexual relationships, they are called an abomination. No need for you to get snippy with me because I disagree with you.

ok listen here buddy, you don't need to believe in gay marriage, but you forcing other people to, is not the way to go. God gave us a choice, you can follow his way or not follow his ways. You fighting against gay marriage, is you pushing your religion on somebody who doesn't want to believe in what you believe. What you are doing is the same thing as somebody telling you are wrong for believing in god. Snippy

I am not against the person. I do not like their life choices. I am against gay marriage. Why can't you accept that I disagree with you? This is my faith, my beliefs. I know you disagree and that's fine. You are not going to convince me otherwise and I will not you either.

"smile" cyclee, it also tells the man to love his wife as he (God/ Christ) loves the church (his people). With that said you can easily see many men fall short of what they are supposed to do.

That's not it Donovan. Whatever written in the bible, I'm not sure what exact words were used, still makes us women sound like the toy/tool/pet for men. So if men are men, are women not men in God's term?

I do not think women will ever be men or vise-versa. :) I understand what you are saying but I believe that the Bible gives each sex (male or female) certain responsibilities. With that said it does not tolerate males treating women without respect.

Yes, I have answered your question, I said I'm against gay marriage. How can I be any clearer? My answer is... no, gay marriage should NOT be allowed in the USA or anywhere for that matter. It's not what I think, it's what God thinks. Ask him.
