If I were to group all left of center people with the stereotypes you have of Christians and Republicans, you would be the first one to scream of my intolerance. I am a Christian and a conservative Republican and I challenge you to look through all of my RIA posts and find one time when I attempted to slam my faith down the throats of others or resort to name calling people with whom I disagree politically. You are a shining example of why people like me say that folks on the left claim to be the most tolerant when in fact, it is they who are intolerant of others and wish to silence opposition and make fun of those who do no subscribe to their way of thinking.

It's amazing how fast Christian conseratives like to jump up and down about ANY CRITICISM whatsoever - like THEY are the people who are under assault! That's just BIG LIE ridiculous! Sometimes, the stereotypes are based in truth, just look at YOURSELVES as critically as you look at everyone else and you'll see what I mean. The Christians burned the Library at Alexandria, raped Hypatia, chopped her to pieces with clay roofing tiles and burned her body on the gounds of a Christian church, the Church made the rapist Priest a SAINT! (St. Cyril) The Christians burned "witches", the Christians persecuted the Jews, they hanged runaway slaves and the right-wing Republican Christians polluted our White House with the stench of fascist dictators like Pinochet and Ruiz Mont, Christians Republicans helped the Nazis like Rienhardt Gehlen escape and come to work in the Pentagon! Christian Republican evangelicals had ACTUAL Hitler Youth Church Camps RIGHT HERE IN AMERICA, like Camp Siegfried and Camp Nordland and Camp Hindenburg, Christian industrialists like Henry Ford worked DIRECTLY WITH ADOLPH HITLER in World War II to KILL American soldiers and sailors! He got a hero medal from the Third Reich, so did Charles Lindbergh. Vlad the Impaler (the REAL Dracula) was a blood-thirsty Christian Crusader, as were Increase and Cotton Matthers. I was once a Christian too, but I didn't just LOSE my faith, when the scales fell away (on MY proverbial road to Demascus) and my eyes were finally opened - I TOSSED my faith - and my cookies. Sorry, but the truth burns the ears and the eyes of those who abhor it. "Reality Aversion" is the whole width, length, breadth and depth of the Christian Faith. <~ period.
