The content of their meal is listed on their website (Chicken and Turkey.) They have to list the meal as poultry due to AAFCO regulations (you should check this out so you do not go off unknowingly.) Corn is not bad for dogs, that is a myth. This food is awesome and provides excellent results with a very high digestability level, thats why peeple like it. Try reviewing products you have actually tried instead of writing about products you know nothing about.

If you seperate the ingredients like they do, you can state ingred's as they do, in the order of weight. Chicken meal, then turkey meal. This gives the consumer more info. When each month they get shipped whatevers on sale, and put poultry meal they can use any combination of the two (or more if they decide to put duck or any other poultry). CORN IS BAD FOR DOGS....NOT A MYTH. It is a cheap way to get the protein ratings on the bag to show a higher percentage. It is a crude protein without the proper balance of a dogs essential amino acids that make up protein. That is why weight lifters do not eat corn, they eat MEAT, EGGS AND MILK. Dogs are like atheletes and need high quality proteins, not corn or soy proteins. Please stop with your attacks on peoples reviews who you dont agrre with.

Everyone is entilted to their own opinion; especially, when it comes to rating a product. However, your comment just goes back to the saying that,"Reading is FUNDAMENTAL." For one, Poultry Meal is not the number one ingredient on the list for every type of dog food that Blackwood manufactures. Actually, I can name two types that will disprove your comment right now. First of all, the Lamb&Rice formula does not list Poultry Meal or Corn Meal as the number one and two ingredients. As with everything in life, you pay for what you get, no more, no less. If the ingredients you listed are a concern for you, I suggest you visit the Blackwood website. If you do, you'll see that the Catfish and Potato formula for very sensitive dogs is the best formula,and that it does not contain the ingredients that you are so concerned about.

Most people review the chicken formulas, as most brands have a chicken formula, thus making comparisons relevant. It would be hard to review all the brands and formulas. The Catfish formula of Blackwood is a better food than their Poultry formula. Ingredients: Catfish Meal, Potato Product, Millet, Barley, Oatmeal, Duck Meal, Canola Oil, Flax Meal. Most of the ingredients are good quality, except for the potato product (waste product), but because there are 4 different non meat ingredients after the catfish meal the food is heavier on grains then I would like. I would give this formula 3 stars. Definetly not a bad food, but not great. If someone's dog was doing well on this I would not try to change their mind. Good feeding.
