(0) ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWFUL!!! PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE!! I hope that by posting my story, that I can save someone else a lot of dispair and heart break.

What should be the happiest occasion in my life, is now one of the most confusing and troublesome because of the mistake of Jeanine Kib, the manager of the Valley Fair Crescent Jeweler's store. My fiance proposed on Valentine's day, with a gorgeous diamond ring that he had purchased at Crescent Jewelers in Modesto. We live in San Jose, so we brought it to Valley Fair (Santa Clara, CA) to be sized. The ring was dropped off on February 19th to be sized, and for a small nick to be polished. We were given a "promised" time of 2-3 weeks for the ring to be returned.

Well- March 20th rolls around- and still NO RING! I had been calling Valley Fair off and on to find out when my ring would be ready, and the sales associates kept telling me "It will be here hun, be patient, it's being worked on in Texas." We were also given a story about how they are going through an audit and they could not have any merchandise come into the store because it would "confuse" them.

Then we were told (by Valley Fair Crescent) that 4-6 weeks is a more accurate time frame to receive the ring. Why? Because my fiance had purchased the two year warranty- and if you do so- get this- it takes LONGER! (WHAT?) We had not received this information when we dropped it off for sizing with the manager (Jeanine). Actually, she wrote a turn around time of 2-3 weeks on our contract which makes sense because why would one take a ring to be sized if the turn around is longer than the 30 days that you are allowed to return it if you are not satisfied? You are basically stuck with your purchase.

Finally- last week, I was SICK of all the excuses and I had asked to speak with a manager because my parents had decided to throw me an engagement party this past Saturday and I needed my ring already. I had to show up at my party with no ring (and believe me- EVERYONE asked questions). I was completely crushed.

The manager- Jeanine pretty much just gave us the runaround on our situation and kept brushing us off. She handed our case over to the Modesto store for some reason for them to take care of their mess. Guess what? My ring miraculously ended up in Modesto! Why? I still don't have an answer. The only explanation that we have received is that Crescent is using a new company for repairs and that we are "guinea pigs".

The sad thing is, that I have to deal with these people for the next two years. Every time I look down at my beautiful ring, I will be reminded of how awfully we were treated at Crescent Jewelers. I have waited for 8 years for my fiance to pop the question. The thought of returning the ring makes me sick to my stomach because I have waited so long and I love it so much. I guess I could not return it even if I wanted to because the 30 day time frame has passed. Bottom line- buy your ring somewhere else. The management here is clueless, and they do not value customer's! Please take your business elsewhere!

well you'll be happy to know that you don't have to deal with any of the stores anymore since we're all shut :) Thank you for shopping, please come again...=P
