Interesting because they actually finished ahead of Grandmaster Flash in last year's voting, but it was due to ballots that came in after the deadline, probably reflecting the wishes of a senior crowd that was a bit more Turtle-like in sending their votes to Cleveland.
And that's really the problem with the Hall right now, it needs a young nomination committee and younger, more knowledgeable voters, rather than old fogeys willing to throw in anyone who they own a vinyl from. The DC5 weren't awful, but they were hardly memorable or exceedingly influential. They could reasonably be listed on a Top 50 eligible artists not currently in the Hall, but they'd certainly be near the backend.
