Wal-Mart Super Tech Motor Oil 5

I'm not a mechanic, nor a DIYer. I'm a consumer like most of you. My research and info come from chat rooms, asking real garage mechanics, auto store managers, and other consumers like you. The chat rooms are filled with know-it-alls that really don't know anymore than the average consumer like me. There is not one valid argument, back with credible data, that identifies one synthetic oil brand in such a manner that using any other brand would be detrimental or damaging to your engine. The know-it-alls bash ST as being inferior, re-cycled, lesser quality, watered down, etc... Whether ST is made by QS, Warren, or Penzoil, so what...show me credible data that would convince me using ST would jeopardize my engines life. You can't. You can only express your opinion as to why you feel ST is junk and the brand you are using is the greatest liquid since spring water was invented. The same applies to ST oil filters. The know-it-alls are convinced the more $ you spend on oil/filters equates to higher quality and anything sold at Wal-Mart is junk.  I'll do myself a favor and do more research on lubricants.  I recommend you know-it-alls do yourselves a favor and take a course in Marketing strategies.  Price does NOT equate to quality and the ST name on the box does not mean Wal-Mart made the product.  In the meantime, I'll continue using ST oil/filters until someone can convince me I'm torturing my engine :-)

Very good point and I agree but keep in mind if you drive an expensive vehicale you don't go to "Joe's Rot Gut Insurance Sales" either do you. So don't trust their dino oil to anything but the lawn mower.
