Perhaps the most beautiful Ford Mustang ever made, the 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR (King of the Road) was aptly named as it combined the brute power of the 426 Cobra-Jet engine with the sleek sportiness of the fastback. Also available in convertible form (my personal preference), the GT500KR was a menace on the streets as it realistically displaced 450 horsepower off the line, and competed on par with the Yenkos, the LS6s and the 426 Hemis of the time.
