I have terrible cycstic acne and I've tried almost everything except accutane, which I was about to get prescribed until the derm gave me this. The Benzaclin cream was prescribed to me in the morning, and I am using Ziana (clindamyclin phosphate and tretinoin) cream at night, with doxycyclin pills and a benyzol peroxide face wash, and yasmin at the same time. Ive been on yasmin for a month and started developing white bumps all over the bottom of my face and neck, I dont know whether it was bringing all of my acne out or what, but since I started using BENZACLIN the past two days, the bumps and pimples are drying out and going away. This stuff burns like a mother, makes my skin red, dry and flaky, but I know I have to hang in there for at least two weeks. I can feel this medication working by the hour. Im not sure if the pills or ziana are working bc I dont feel the same effects, but I will keep posted.

Hi! I am a 33 year old woman who has had acne for years! It got worse in collage and continued to get worse after. I went on Accutane 2 x's. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT!!!!! It didn't work at first and then it started to after because it stays in your system for a month. My skin got much better and a year later..it was worse! I went on Accutane again and this time it worked sooner but a year later it came back and worse!!!! I tried using the pill and no help. I tried proactive and it helped for a while and then didn't at all. What has worked best for me in the past 4 years is a combo. of Duac Gelc (at night or morning,) and Tazarac Cream (night or morning) Duac bleaches my pillow case but it crumbles under make-up so I use it at Night and Tazarac cream in the morning. I would check your hormone levels. I take a mild natural thyroid grain , I was slightly hypothyroid.( Too slow) and I use Progesterone cream days 14-28 of my cycle. It regulates the cycle great, helps with PMS and soar breasts and helps with acne as well. You may want to be tested for allergies/food intolerances by a homeopathic doc. I have gone through the gammit and this has helped me a lot! And I tried everything! Accutane dries you out so bad that you must put vaseline in your nose or you will get nosebleeds, your lips crack and peel like crazy, you get really thirsty and have to drink 10 + glasses of water a day and cannot get pregnant or your baby will be deformed. You have to get get your blood and urine checked regularly while taking accutane. I thought of it as a last resort but I had no idea that new meds existed topically that worked because I ran from Dermatlogists for a while out of frustration. I got engaged and I faced my fear and went to new docs and the combo of Duac and Tazaroc is known to be very successful for many hard to treat cases.
