My 3 dogs LOVE this food! I have a 1 yr old Husky, 5month old yorkie and 7 year old Chihuahua. I tried to switch them gradually from their old food (Purina ONE) to FRR but they would pick out the FRR and leave the Purina one all around the bowl. They have been on this food for 2 weeks now and last week the Husky had diarrhea and yesterday the yorkie and the Chihuahua have diarrhea. I am really hoping that this is due to the switch and go away on its own, I will have to wait n see. But I didnt give it 5 stars because they say you will see less waste but I have seen a lot more and it smells BAD!! I will give it some time and see if its just the adjustment.

Cut back on the quantity, by at least one third. This food is alot richer than the purina one. Cutting back should solve the problem. Look at the old bag of purina and the bag of FRR and you will see there is a lot more calories in this food. Cutting back on the quanitity will move the food through their systems slower, allowing more absorption of the food, and a harder stool. Good luck.

Also feed 2 equal size feedings a day. My pointer got an upset stomach stomach 2 weeks after switching to Canidae. I cut her food back from 1 cup in morning and 2 cups in evening of old food, to 2/3rds cup kibble in morning, and 1/2 cup kibble in evening with 1/2 can wet at night and her system cleared up slowly. It took almost 2 more weeks of gradual clering to where her system is now better than beofre. My Lab transitioned without any problems.

It takes 6 months to really see the results of a new dog food. when you switch it has to be very slow...My dogs have been on canidae for almost a year and they still have loose stools (not all but most), and it smells horrid! I have not decided whether to switch to FRR due to the price...
