True Story, we have 4 parking spaces in front of our store, needless to say, thats not a lot. Unfortunetly, there is not "30 minute" parking in front of our store so it is a free for all as to who parks there. This little old lady with a hany-cap sticker parkes in front of our store. She gets out her walker and start leaving the lot. My dad followed her to see where she was going as it was a little unusaully for a person to park in the complex and then leave. When she got to the stop light, my dad asked where she was going, her reply was "I am handycapped" my dad said, "yeah, ok, so where are you going", she replys again "I'm handycapped". My dad then says, "you can't park right in front of our store and just leave the entire center." She says that since there is no parking limit that she could, and that she was handycapped. My dad pointed out that there was a sign that said if you do not shop at the center then you will be towed. She replied, "well, I'm hadnycapped". She then proceeded to walk to the bus stop and get on the bus! Well. we towed her car adn when she came back she was extremely angry. She asked my dad why he did it, he explained about the parking and she replied "But I'm Handycapped!"
Respect is earned, it is not a given no matter how old you are. It is more or less a privilage and not a right. If you are rude to me, I will be as considerate as I can back, but there is definitely a line of rudeness that if it is crossed, I will have no reserve about being disrespectful or rude back.
