I've been part of the Baptist denomination my whole life, and I have mixed feelings about it. While I feel I was taught the Bible nicely, it wasn't as thorough as I'd have liked it. We read certain passages but never discussed the Bible as a whole. Also, being non-white at a white Baptist Church was just uncomfortable; they seemed to ostracize us for not being like them.
Basically, while Baptism is a good denomination, it was not religious and serious enough for me. I felt far away from God numerous times and many church members were not concerned enough to help me through this even when I asked for it. But this is based soley on experience.
