They know that soon we will have cars that don't rely on oil and are more efficient; so any excuse will be used!!. These new cars will be less harming to our environment, so all they are doing is trying to make the biggest profit now!!!!! It's horrible I know, but at least we could be having brighter days ahead. I would love to pay $2.60, at the moment I pay $3-4 in Colorado. It hurts and I don't use the car as much, but that's a good thing as I get to walk everywhere and be healthy like the rest of the world!! LOL UPDATED11:55 am 05/11/2007
