Joyce Meyer 5

Years ago I caught Joyce Meyer's program and was impressed. But being a newly committed Christian I wanted to know more of the Word and then try Joyce's reaching (that's right: reaching) again. So I studied for over a year in Bible Study then returned to her program. Although much old and uninformed information exists on the web regarding Joyce Meyer I discovered when I would research what I was reading over-and-over the "stories" negatively reported about her were in-error. For example a local newspaper in her area had to withdraw many, many factual errors and even out-and-out slander..but of course the apologies did not make as good press as the original false information. I have heard Joyce many times state that study of the Word is key to personal growth and relationship with the Lord. I believe people underestimate the journey she undertood to reach the point of ministry she has achieved. Where people get the impression she is "Word-of-Faith" from I cannot fathom. Actually she is very concise in the role of the believer. From her I have learned how our Soul is comprised of our Mind, Will and Emotions, that we are given Free Will, that the choice is ours on how committed we are to following the Word. "God is a gentleman" I have heard her say quite a few times: He does have a plan for you, for each of us BUT if we do not commit to instruction specifically contained in the Word concerning how we should conduct our own Soul (mind, will and emotions) then of course we are not placing ourselves, with our own Free Will, in-line with His instruction. I like her and have a deep affection for her. Negative reviews tell me two things: that the individual had limited exposure to her. And they do not understand the Bible yet.
