Montmartre

Montmartre is my favorite part of Paris. Crooked cobble stoned streets and steep staircases cascade down for about 250 feet of elevation from the beautiful Sacre Coeur church. The architecture and streets make it feel like its 1707 and not 2007, and there are plenty of hidden nooks to sit out, have a glass of wine, and watch the people wander by. It's sort of a hike - there's a tram that will take you up to the top, but it's frequently out of service. The views of Paris are gorgeous from the top, but the real beauty is in the walk up. Highly recommended.
