Libertarian Party 3

Great for the preserverance of freedom but too harsh at limiting government or helping out those who need help via the social net.

My government is not a social net. Like all governments its constitution is a "Social Contract" and the founding fathers understood that concept when they wrote it. Its not in the contract so I did not agree to it. And it is wrong to force me into an agreement I did not make. Its not that I hate charity but let me borrow a few words from Thomas Paine.

SOME writers have so confounded society with government, as to leave little or no distinction between them; whereas they are not only different, but have different origins. Society is produced by our wants, and government by our wickedness; the former promotes our happiness POSITIVELY by uniting our affections, the latter NEGATIVELY by restraining our vices. The one encourages intercourse, the other creates distinctions. The first is a patron, the last a punisher.
government is an institution to resolves problems that society did not take care of. Even though that does leave an argument against me. Government is only good if it is agreed to and that use was not described in the contract.
social networks exist and they are not bad, but they are not my government.
