Reading these reviews, it is apparent that there are MAC employees writing many of them. I do like mac makeup, and occasionally splurge on an eyeshadow or lipgloss, but honestly you pay for "MAC" written on it; i think that drug store makeup may be just as good. ADVICE: DO NOT get the mascara. clumpy and irritating

It is mind boggling to me that customers complain that the cost of Mac makeup is "too expensive" and they rather a "drugstore" brand. Truth be told Mac is the CHEAPEST professional makeup artist brand! You are paying a couple of dollars more for a professional product. Opposed to 10 plus dollars you will have to lay out for any other brand.

You don't pay for the "MAC" title at all when buying the makeup. Mac makeup uses more pigment in their line the drugstores do. You can take the exact same eyeshadow color from a drugstore and one from Mac and apply them, you will see that after only one application that the drugstore eyeshadow color doesn't even compare to the Mac color.(I have seen this done)The reason Mac is more expensive is because pigment is extremely expensive. Thus the color goes on way darker the first time you apply it and in fact you don't need to cake it on for the look you want. Mascara is a different story. Mascara, no matter what, should go on smoothly with no clumps, the more expensive mascara is doesn't mean it's better by any stretch of the imagination. In saying this though it is important to keep in mind that everyone has differnt eyelashes, not to mention some people may be more sensitive then others. Find a mascara that works for you, hey if it isn't namebrand that's fine, but just because it says MAC doesn't mean it isn't good quality. And I'm not a Mac employee. Just so you know.

I can rest assure you I am NOT a MAC employee.... but I truly swear by MAC. NO WHERE in my town is mac sold, so no counter to work at, therefore having to purchase through the websight. Any storebought makeup I have to apply with a butterknife... Mac is one application... sorry it doesnt work for you.. but for me, I wont go back, and because I am a loyal user, does not make me an EMPLOYEE. MAC is popular and expensive for a reason.... its a GREAT line!!!
