Terrific, haunting song from "Sunshine Superman." A kind of blend of jazz, folk, and early psychedelia, with eerie lyrics and excellent orchestration that really compliments the song. 'Bert' is Bert Jansch, a fine folk guitarist- one of the most important names in British folk in the 60's, and a big influence on guitarists from Neil Young to Jimmy Page- Led Zeppelin's 'Black Mountain Side" from their debut is very much in the Jansch vein- who put out some well regarded solo albums and was part of the acclaimed British folk/ folk rock act Pentangle. Donovan also had a song called 'House of Jansch" dedicated to the guitarist. One of Donovan's best tunes.
