Tammy Faye 1

I do not wish suffering or premature passing on her; and for that I can say that I am sorry. For me however, that is where it stops. I agree with Flick's review with one exception- the things she did were not "mistakes". In calculated fashion, she took advantage of the aged, the poor, the sick , and the stupid, and she did it all in the name of God. Then, when the spit hit the spam, she couldn't wait to divorce her husband who was jailed for crimes in which she was complicit. Again, sorry for her physical suffering, but the woman is a hypocrite.

Thank you sir.

Victor, you are correct in that what she and Jim did was calculated and more criminal activity rather than simply a mistake. I kind of got off in that direction when I started talking about "our mistakes" as I originally labeled what she and Jim did "abuses." That being said. through the jail time Jim did and the loss of their riches and credibility I feel they have paid for what they did. Some may say it was not enough, others may say it was too much, I guess it depends what a person got from the PTL club when it was active. My main point, which I may not have made clear enough, is this. Tammy is watching her life fade from her body every day and she knows she will soon be running out of days. I am sure as she grows weaker she has reflected on her life and whatever wrongs she has committed. She is the one who has to make peace with God and I would imagine it is difficult considering the way she has lived. Dying is difficult enough. Dying when you have a lifetime of things which need forgiveness is probably 10 times more difficult. As far as I am concerned, justice was done to the Bakkers. If we cannot find it in our hearts to show some compassion to someone who is dying under such horrific circumstances, it does not speak very well for us either as Christians, or as human beings.

FLick, I said that I agreed with your post- other than the word "mistake". You clarified that, so no big deal there. When my time comes, I will have much to answer for as well....BUT...you say that they paid the price, I disagree. Jim did. Tammy garnered (undeserved) sympathy for having been married to Jim. Again, she was every bit as guilty as Jimbo, but did not serve a day that I know of. I do not wish the physical suffering on her, but again, I stand by what I said. Crimes are bad enough...but when people use the name of God the Father to take advantage of others...well, God may forgive that, I don't know if I can.

I understand Victor and as I said, there are many who feel Tammy should have done some jail time or found another way to make restitution. I was as hard on her as anyone else until I saw her on Larry King. Her condition really shook me up.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I am hardly wityhout sin myself, so I won't play the holy hypocrite here.

"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" does not mean that one is not allowed to express an opinion. I stand by my opinion and my right to voice it. As long as your are quoting scripture, it also says "Ye shall know them by their fruits".

AutzenMaven commented 856 days ago.
Yes Victor...their fruits. Yours come ripe in many of your posts, don't they? We are all eff ups in the sight of the Lord. Every sin is a BIG sin. Just try to lighten up a bit on the dead...or I'll start in on Ronnie Reagan and the seances, etc., OK?

AM...my original post was put there BEFORE she was dead. You have blasted and criticized politicians and others on this site- so spare me your sudden holy roller condescending BS!

AutzenMaven commented 856 days ago.
Eff you! Blasting a living person...and seeing your usual phantom unhelpfuls is one thing...blasting the dead is another.

You are a liar. Grow up...in the mean time..EFF YOU TOO.
