Radio Shack 1

RadioShack used to be a good store, back when they still carried a lot of components like chips, resistors, switches, fuses, etc. But now all the do is try to force feed a new computer, cell phone, or remote control car down your throat when you walk in the door.

unfortunately, with 6,000 stores and a very small amount of parts customers, its hard to keep all parts in stock. Parts make less than a percent of total sales for a store, so it would not make too much sense to keep these in the store if people are simply not buying them. I have parts in my drawers that still say archer on the package... just to give you an idea of how much of the parts we actually sell.

In todays throw away society people just arent replacing parts or fixing radios and other elecronics anymore.

While I realize the truth in what you say, the thing is, those components are what made RadioShack a unique store. I can get anything else they sell at BestBuy or Wal-Mart, and in the case of computers, buying directly from the brand's website.
